Ubertina: the woman who owns more Gamberini bags than I do
We have never met in person. And yet I call her Super Ube, and a bag carries her name.
The collector
Ubertina has been my customer for years. We write to each other, and over those years she has bought more Gamberini bags than I keep in the archive.
I couldn't say exactly how many. I know there are more than mine.

Every time she lands somewhere a message arrives: a photo of the bag she took with her, in a different landscape. My bags have seen places I have never been to.
The model
How could I not name a bag after her? The Ubertina was made for a full day and for a trip decided the night before: you carry it from morning to evening, and you change the cameo when the plan changes.
We have never met, and one day we will. In the meantime there's a bag with her name on it, travelling in my place.
