In 1957, the great designer Emilio Pucci took the medieval flags of Siena's Palio and transformed them into pure silk. The Porcupine (Istrice) of the Contrada di Siena, a heraldic animal dating to the 1200s, became an icon of Italian design. Today, that porcupine lives on this bag.
The cameo is made from an original archival silk fabric. It is not a print, not a reproduction: it is a genuine cutting of that fabric, hand-applied to the gold-tone galvanized brass frame. One of a kind. The irregularities of the silk's cut are part of the work.

The Night model
W 23.5 × H 17 × D 5.5 cm. Lined calfskin leather, zippered inner pocket. Removable strap: worn by hand, on the shoulder, or crossbody.
