TailorSuite cameo: couture silks, cut one at a time

Cameo TailorSuite: sete di alta moda, tagliate una alla volta

Some things you understand by touching them. A TailorSuite cameo is one of those: silk changes with the light on it, and a photograph gives you only one of them. What I can tell you is how it's made.

Where the fabric comes from

Every TailorSuite cameo starts from fabrics chosen among the collections of Italian couture houses: silks, brocades, jacquards.

Centred by hand, one at a time

Before cutting we decide where the pattern falls: which flower stays whole, where the stripe runs, what goes inside the oval and what stays out. What stays out is waste, and we count it in.

That's why two cameo cut from the same silk are not the same: what changes is where we cut them. It isn't a variation in the fabric — it's a choice, made one at a time, in our workshop in Bologna.

How you change it

The gesture is always the same: ten seconds and free hands. One cameo for work, a silk one for the evening, and the bag is another one without changing bag.

Where to find them

TailorSuite cameo are in the shop in Via d'Azeglio and online. In the shop you'll also find some that aren't online: of those only one piece exists, and we chose to keep them here. You can try them on the bag before you decide.

The Wednesday Drops

TailorSuite Drops come out on Wednesdays: one fabric, one piece, available once.

We announce them on Tuesday on Instagram. If you'd rather know sooner, write to us on WhatsApp.
